Do you feel like everyone else has their life together, and has it all figured out? That you somehow fall short, and struggle more than others do, and have resigned to the belief that you are irreversibly broken?
Perhaps your health is not where you want it to be.
Maybe your marriage is falling to pieces.
Perhaps you sink into deep depression and have no idea how to pull yourself out of it.
The other day, I was in a line up at the grocery store, and I ran into someone I’ve known for many years. He is struggling with the beginnings of dementia, and the last I spoke to him, he has had to give up his life work because his memory is becoming too fuzzy.
When I saw him this particular day, I asked him how he was doing, and he looked at me and said “actually, really shitty” but with a slight twinkle in his eye.
We laughed a bit, but I also told him how I appreciated his realness, and of course, that I was sorry to hear this.
Life will continue to challenge, test and push us to the edge. None of us are immune to this. Life is a mix of pleasure and pain.
None of us truly have it all figured out.
It has taken me nearly 6 years in my private holistic counselling practice to refine my focus into the areas I truly love to teach, and feel the most passionate and experienced with personally in my life.
Empowerment, in all areas of health, life and relationships.
I love teaching and guiding women to find their inner strength, and seeing her eyes light up and sparkle when she really realizes who she truly is.
Healing emotional eating and our dramatic relationship with food and our body, more women suffer with this behind closed doors than we will ever know. I love busting through the BS and getting to the REAL issue.
Here’s where we can begin…
Screw the diet and calorie counting mentality, that is old news. Life is too damn short to worry about the size of your but, and the calories in your salad dressing.
Feel your feelings! Depression, we need to stop medicating our feelings and sadness away, and feel them instead. They are messengers to tell us something isn’t right! listen, pay attention. Or the screams will only get louder.
Anxiety, and stress? It will eventually destroy your health if left to run wild. It sure did mine. Heal the pain that is causing your nervous system to be in overdrive all of the time.
Deal with your stress! And deal with the signs your body is giving you early on, rather than hoping it will pass, or that it is ‘normal’ to feel exhausted and unwell all of the time – it’s not!
Total burnout and Adrenal Exhaustion. This is not easy to overcome, and took me many years to figure out how to unravel the mess I had made.

To be sure, the clients who had the biggest transformation in working with me, have shared that it is with my transparency and sharing a little about my life experiences, which made them feel hope that they too could overcome their challenges.
In counselling school, we are taught to avoid sharing too much about our personal lives. That the therapist/client boundary needs to be really clear.
Too many of us go through life with our guard up, and our masks on.
In my personal life, I tried really hard for years to put on a happy and positive exterior, and not let what I was really experiencing show.
I want to know if you are having a shitty day.
I want to know if you are struggling to keep your marriage together, despite the perfectly posed Facebook photos that are displayed.
I want to know that you secretly eat mindlessly, even if you aren’t hungry when the kids go to bed, because it’s the only moment in the day you have to yourself to breathe.
I want to know this about people, and I have a burning desire to help those that are going through want I have gone through in my life.
Let’s be real, and drop the performance. Shall we?
THIS IS WHAT CAUSES DEPRESSION, and anxiety, and physical illness. We are ‘depressing’ how we truly feel! And it’s making us sick, and pushes us deeper into that dark hole.
Not being in alignment with our true self, lying to ourselves and others about who we are, and how we truly feel is a recipe for illness, depression and anxiety.
Denying that we feel like we are barely holding on, trying to keep the outside looking good so nobody will know the truth… and then going home to eat a box of cookies, numb out in front of the T.V, or down a bottle of wine.
The masks are making us sick, overweight, unhappy, and are putting the barrier up to prevent authentic connection with others.
I don’t mean air your deepest darkest vulnerabilities to the world, but just drop the mask of feeling like you have to be perfect, and have it all together.
Drop the belief that feeling negative emotions, having a bad day, feeling sad, angry or depressed means you are broken.
Dear human, you are not broken.
Drop the fear that you are not enough just as you are.
